Last week, we were surprised by an eagle who apparently was shopping for a new “nest” by inquiring at our office. This juvenile eagle flew in and landed on the edge of a large planter that was sitting right outside our lobby window. We watched him (or her), enthralled by its close proximity, for over an hour. He didn’t seem frightened by us even when we opened the front door and took his photo from about eight feet away. We all agreed, however, that we wouldn’t want to tangle with that powerful beak or those formidable talons. Finally, clients drove into the parking lot and the eagle spread his amazing wings and rose into the sky. One more reason why we love living in Homer, Alaska!
